Associate Ombuds

Gabriel joined the UCSF Office of the Ombuds in 2026. In his previous work at Convergence Center for Policy Resolution in Washington, DC, he served as Programs Director, leading initiatives that fostered collaboration, trust, and inclusive decision-making across sectors. He also directed Convergence’s Learning Lab, a training and capacity-building hub that equips leaders and organizations with the skills and tools to bridge divides and address complex challenges through collaborative problem-solving. Prior to that, Gabriel served as Assistant Director of Programs – Mediation Services at the Center for Conflict Resolution in Chicago, where he managed a team of mediators and case managers handling thousands of interpersonal disputes annually.

 

Gabriel holds a B.S. in Communication from Boston University and an M.S. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution. With nearly a decade of experience in mediation, facilitation, training, and coaching, he brings a deep belief in the power of dialogue to foster understanding, strengthen relationships, and help people navigate conflict constructively.
