Monday - Friday; 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Main entrance is located at Walnut and California Streets. Sign in at the security desk. Take the elevators in the hallway behind the security desk to the 3rd floor. Make a right off of the elevator, walk to the end of the hallway until you come to the lobby with the double doors. Suite 309 is on your right.

Parnassus Office
505 Parnassus (Moffitt Hospital), Room M623
Enter 505 Parnassus and go left past the guest services desk. Take elevator M to the 6th floor. Make a left, then a right off of the elevator. Make a right at the second hallway, the door for M623 is underneath the sign for Adult Medical Surgery.

Meet the Staff

 



Maureen Brodie, MA, CO-OP
Director and Ombudsperson

Maureen received her mediation training at the University of California at Davis, serving as the UCD Senior Mediator from 1996-2010 where she provided two-party mediation and group facilitation services to faculty, staff, professional/graduate students and trainees. Additionally, Maureen has co-trained over 200 mediators -- faculty and staff at UC Davis, and employees at California state agencies through collaboration with the State Personnel Board. In May 2010, she was appointed UCSF Mediation Officer, and helped to launch the Office of the Ombuds the following year. Maureen is a Certified Organizational Ombuds Practitioner as designated by the International Ombudsman Association and is available to meet with individual members of the UCSF community to discuss workplace concerns.


 


Ellen Goldstein, MA, CO-OP
Ombudsperson

Ellen provides mediation services and designs and facilitates group experiences ranging from staff retreats and team building to strategic planning and group conflict resolution. Ellen trained as a UCSF Volunteer Mediator in 2007 and joined the Office of the Ombuds in 2012. Her diverse group facilitation experience includes working with both small and large group processes for non-profit organizations, academic efforts, and governmental entities. Ellen has been a popular guest lecturer on community-engaged research strategies. At UCSF since 1988, her work has focused on HIV/AIDS, health equity, and linking research to community practice. Ellen is a Certified Organizational Ombuds Practitioner as designated by the International Ombudsman Association and is available to meet with individual members of the UCSF community to discuss workplace concerns.

 

 

Misty Loetterle
Ombudsperson

Misty provides strengths-based coaching and consultation services focused on helping members of the UCSF community navigate challenges. With thirteen years of experience leading recruitment, retention, and diversity initiatives for the UCSF campus and Medical Center, Misty has deep knowledge of the unique challenges facing faculty, staff, students, residents, and postdocs. Misty completed the Foundations of Ombudsman Practice Course as designated by the International Ombudsman Association. She also holds a certification in Positive Psychology Health and Wellness Coaching from Wellcoaches, Inc. and the American College of Sports Medicine with a specialization in behavior change coaching.

 

 



Paula Peters
Program Coordinator

Paula joined the office in 2017 as an administrative assistant. She provides program and administrative support for the department and is often the first point of contact for visitors to the office.
